Martyn now favors acrylics and watercolors. I've always felt the subject suggests the type of medium to use, which I think naturally changes my style slightly. The limitations or quality of the mediums ;chosen can also be decisive ... Martyn was steered away from the art room by the teachers at Burnley Grammar School towards the maths and physics departments. Whilst studying Physics and Maths at Habergham High school Martyn would sneak into the art classes although not officially part of his curriculum these art classes would become Martyn's only formal training in high school, fortunately several students and professors saw his talent and encouraged him to persue his art.
Finishing High School in 1983 was a bleak prospect for most students Martyn included as heavy cuts by the Thatcher government had cut university places to the bone.
in 1984 armed with a camera in one hand and a brush in the other Martyn fled the unemployment of the North in search of something else..Since then some years have seen a flury of paintings and others have due to family commitments less..but nether the less a stream of works that relate in their undertones the social issues of our time.
Martyn married Estrella in Argentina in 1993 , before moving to Kfar Azza Israel where they brought up four daughters.
Martyn studied life painting at Sapir Collage. And from 2005 t0 2007 studied Media Design also at Sapir Collage. Where he took to 3d animation which gave him another way to express his art .
IN 2008 he moved with his family to Argentina
Endowed with innate talent and amazing eye for detail, a instinctive approach to social trends, Martyn shouldn't lose his appeal either...
